Shrimp Shawarma

Description

Shrimp shawarma is a delightful and less common variation of the classic Middle Eastern dish, replacing the traditional beef, lamb, or chicken with succulent shrimp. The shrimp are typically marinated in a blend of Middle Eastern spices such as cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, and garlic, often with a hint of lemon juice or a touch of yogurt for tenderness and flavor.

Once marinated, the shrimp are cooked, either on a vertical rotisserie like traditional shawarma (though more often pan-fried or grilled in a home setting) until they are perfectly tender and slightly charred. The cooked shrimp are then usually tucked into a warm pita or flatbread, along with fresh vegetables like shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions.
